The best free AI faceless video generator in 2026, if you want an export you can publish, is Microsoft Clipchamp: free exports "up to 1080p (full HD)" with no watermark, AI voiceovers and AI subtitles included, and free stock media. It is an editor, so you write the script and arrange the shots yourself. The script-to-video tools that do the assembling for you, Fliki, Pictory, VEED and InVideo AI, all have free plans or trials, but on their own pages the free output is 720p and watermarked, and Fliki's free plan has "no commercial rights". On 8frame there is no free generation, but a 60-second faceless Short (12 AI clips, a voiceover and a music bed) costs about 78 credits, or $0.78 at pack rate.
Before you pick a tool, read YouTube's rule: "AI-generated content made with generic or unoriginal templates giving the impression of mass production" is not eligible for monetization. The tool is the easy part.

The picks
Clipchamp: free, clean, you do the assembling
Microsoft's help centre describes the free plan as "core editing tools, free stock media, and watermark-free video exports up to 1080p (full HD)", and the pricing page adds "AI video editing features like AI subtitles, voiceovers, and silence removal". That is a full faceless stack for nothing: stock footage, an AI voice, captions, and a clean full HD file.
Two limits. Premium stock is behind the paywall: "To save a video that includes premium stock assets, you'll need to be on a subscription." And Clipchamp does not write the video for you: you paste the script, pick the clips and place them. For a channel that posts a few times a week, that manual step is also what keeps each video from looking like the last one.
Fliki: script to video, watermarked and non-commercial on free
Fliki turns a script or a blog post into a narrated video with stock visuals. The free plan is "3 credits per month", "HD - 720p videos", "Includes Fliki watermark", with "300 voices across 80+ languages". Fliki's own pages disagree on how far 3 credits go: the pricing FAQ says "5 minutes of free audio and video content per month", while its text-to-video page says 3 credits make "3 minutes of 720p video". That page also says "The free plan has no commercial rights", so a monetized channel needs a paid plan; it puts watermark removal "from $28/month" (the pricing page itself shows no amount).
Pictory: a 14-day trial, not a free plan
Pictory's free option is a trial: "14 days free", and "The free trial lets you create 3 video projects", with 300 credits and a 720p export. The plan table lists "Pictory branding" as included on the trial, defined as "Whether a Pictory watermark is added to your exported videos". Stock comes from Storyblocks and Getty, and the plan lists ElevenLabs voices. Starter is $25 a month billed yearly or $29 month to month. Note the refund line: "We don't currently offer refunds on paid subscriptions."
VEED: browser editor, 720p and a watermark on free
VEED's help centre is specific: "All projects exported while you weren't logged into an account or used a free account will have a VEED.IO watermark", and free accounts "Export in 720p only" (Creator goes to 1080p, Pro to 4K). Its pricing table did not render for us, so we can't quote free minutes or prices.
InVideo AI: weekly free credits, terms not stated
InVideo's help centre says "you can use invideo AI for free without entering your card details", and "This quota on the Free plan is reset weekly on Monday at 12 a.m. UTC." The help article doesn't say how many minutes the quota buys, or whether free exports are watermarked, and its pricing page showed no free tier and euro prices to us. Treat it as a test bench until you see the export.
YouTube's rules, in YouTube's words
Faceless is allowed. Mass production is the problem.
- Monetization. In July 2025 YouTube updated its "repetitious content" policy "to better clarify this includes content that is repetitive or mass-produced" and renamed it "inauthentic content". The section on the policy page is now called "Generic or Repetitive Content", and its examples of what can't earn include "AI-generated content made with generic or unoriginal templates giving the impression of mass production" and "Similar or repetitive content with low educational value, commentary, narratives, or minimal variation across videos".
- Disclosure. "We require creators to disclose AI-generated or altered content that seems realistic." YouTube's examples that need it include AI-generated music and making it look like a real person has been arrested; a unicorn in a fantasy world, or beauty filters, do not. You set it with the "AI use" setting in YouTube Studio.
What this means in practice: one template, one stock voice and the same structure on every upload is the pattern the policy describes. Vary the shots, write the commentary yourself, and give each video a reason to exist. That costs time, not money, on any of these tools.
What a faceless Short costs on 8frame
8frame is a canvas where the script, the shots, the voice and the music sit on one board, with a Video Editor to cut them together. Generation is paid by credits; a credit is about $0.01 at pack rate.
| Part | Tool | Credits |
|---|---|---|
| 12 shots of 5 s each, 720p | Pruna p-video Draft, 4 per clip | 48 |
| A voiceover of about 150 words (under 1,000 characters) | ElevenLabs TTS, 13 per started 1,000 characters | 13 |
| 60 s of music | MiniMax Music 3 | 17 |
| Captions from your script | Video Editor "Generate captions" | in the editor |
| Total for a 60 s Short | 78 |
Want better shots? The same 12 clips on Grok Imagine at 720p (48 each, sound always on) come to 576 credits, and on Creatify Boreal at 720p (7 each, sound always on) to 84. For still images instead of clips, Nano Banana 2 is 11 credits per image at 1K. We have priced these tools but not measured their quality on 8frame, so render one shot before you render twelve. Failed generations are refunded automatically.
How the pieces fit:
- Script first. Write it, or draft it with an AI chat and rewrite it in your own voice. The script is what makes the video yours under YouTube's rule.
- Shots from the script. One prompt per line of narration, all in the same aspect ratio (9:16 for Shorts).
- Voice and music. ElevenLabs TTS takes up to 5,000 characters per generation; a 10-minute script needs two or more runs.
- Cut in the Video Editor. Put clips, voice and music on the timeline, paste the script into "Generate captions" (it times captions at an estimated 160 words per minute, so nudge them to the voice), and export. Don't join talking or narrated parts with the canvas Montage node: the merged file has no sound.
The longer build, a 10-minute video with costs per part, is in how to make faceless YouTube videos with AI. 8frame output has no watermark on any plan, and commercial use is cleared on paid plans.
FAQ
What is the best free AI faceless video generator? For a clean free export, Clipchamp: 1080p, no watermark, free stock, AI voiceovers and subtitles, but you assemble the video yourself. Fliki, Pictory, VEED and InVideo AI build the video from a script for you, but their free output is 720p and watermarked on their own pages, or the terms are not stated.
Can you make faceless videos for free without a watermark? Yes, with Clipchamp, which says it adds no watermark and exports up to 1080p for free, as long as you avoid premium stock. Fliki, Pictory (trial) and VEED add their watermark on free.
Can faceless AI videos be monetized on YouTube? Yes, if they are not mass-produced. YouTube's policy excludes "AI-generated content made with generic or unoriginal templates giving the impression of mass production" from monetization. Realistic AI content must also be disclosed with the "AI use" setting.
Can I use free faceless videos commercially? Not from Fliki's free plan, which "has no commercial rights". Clipchamp, Pictory, VEED and InVideo don't state commercial terms for their free tiers on the pages we checked. On 8frame, commercial use is cleared on paid plans.
Is 8frame free for faceless videos? No. The canvas is free and unlimited; generation is paid from $19/month. A new account starts with no credits. A 60-second Short with 12 draft clips, a voiceover and music costs about 78 credits.
