A tattoo is the one output in this whole category that is permanent and lives on a person. A generated tattoo design is an image drawn for a screen: it can look finished there and still not be something an artist would tattoo as drawn. Line weight, spacing, size and placement on the body are the artist's calls, not the generator's.
Use generation to find a direction. Take the direction to an artist, who will redraw it.

Why a generated image is not a tattoo design yet
A generator draws for a screen, where every line stays as sharp as the file. It knows nothing about the size your tattoo will be, where it goes on your body, or how your artist works. Treat these as questions for your artist, not as things the image has already solved:
Line weight. Ask how heavy the outlines need to be at your size and placement. If the reference uses thin, even lines, ask whether your artist would thicken or vary them.
Spacing. Ask whether the gaps and hatching in the reference are too tight for the size you want.
Small detail. Ask what the smallest detail is that they would put into a design of your size. A generated image can be full of tiny elements because the file has no size limit.
Contrast. Ask whether a design that relies on subtle tonal shifts suits their style, or whether it needs bolder contrast.
Placement. A flat image is not a body. Where the tattoo goes changes the shape and size the design needs, and that is a decision the artist makes with you, on you.
What generation is good for
Finding a direction. Twenty variations of an idea at 6 credits each (120 credits) is a cheap way to discover what you actually want before sitting down with an artist.
Communicating a feel. Showing an artist "something like this" is often easier than describing it.
Style exploration. Seeing the same subject as fine line, traditional, blackwork, illustrative.
Composition ideas. How elements arrange, roughly.
Line art to show an artist. If you want a cleaner reference, try asking for it in the prompt: black line art on a plain white background, clean outlines, no shading, no colour, the subject on its own. Treat the result as a reference, not a stencil; turning a design into a stencil is your artist's job.

What to bring your artist
Expect a tattoo artist to redraw whatever you bring. That is not them being difficult; designing the tattoo is part of the job.
What helps them:
- Reference images of the feel, including generated ones. Fine to bring.
- Placement. Where on the body, which affects everything.
- Size, in centimetres, so they can judge how much detail fits.
- Style preference, named: fine line, traditional, blackwork, realism.
- What matters to you about the subject, so they know what to preserve when they simplify.
What does not help: a finished generated design presented as the thing to copy. It was drawn for a screen, not for your body, and an artist may decline to copy a design they did not draw. Ask before you book.
The other artist's-work problem
Do not generate "in the style of" a named tattoo artist and take it to a different artist. A tattoo artist's style is their livelihood.
