Correction, 2026-10-02: we re-checked every Meta figure on this page against the English version of Meta's ads guide (locale en_US) on 2026-10-02. They are unchanged, and the source link now points to that version. Three statements about 8frame were wrong or loose. The page said one AI generation on 8frame runs at most 30 seconds: 30 seconds is the cap for text-to-video and image-to-video (Wan 3.0, Seedance 2.5), but two lip-sync tools, OmniHuman 1.5 and Pruna Avatar, run up to 35 seconds. It listed Wan 3.0, Happy Horse and Hailuo H3 as 3:4 models without saying that they take 3:4 only when you start from text, with no start image. And it said feed ads are "usually" several short shots joined, which we have not measured. We also added which models reach 1080 x 1920, the crop from 720p, the feed page's text and video settings, and Meta's specs for Facebook Stories and in-stream video.
Meta's ads guide (English version, checked 2026-10-02) recommends 4:5 at 1440 x 1800 pixels for Facebook feed video ads, as MP4, MOV or GIF, up to 4 GB, from 1 second to 241 minutes long, with a minimum of 120 x 120 pixels. The long maximum is not a suggestion to use it: the recommended shape is the useful part. And since none of the AI video models on 8frame generates 4:5, the feed version comes from a crop, or from a 4:5 still if an image ad will do.

The same page lists video settings: H.264 compression, square pixels, fixed frame rate, progressive scan and stereo AAC audio at 128 kbps or more. For Facebook Stories, Meta suggests keeping about 14% at the top and 20% at the bottom free of text and logos, so the call-to-action does not cover them. For in-stream, Meta notes that the length limit may vary by objective; generate 16:9, which every video model on 8frame offers. All four from Meta's ads guide (English), checked 2026-10-02.
Getting 4:5 from AI video
The closest shape the video models on 8frame generate is 3:4 (0.75, against 4:5 at 0.8). Seedance, Grok Imagine and Runway Gen-4 Turbo offer 3:4, and so do Wan 3.0, Happy Horse, Hailuo H3, Pruna p-video and Creatify Boreal when you start from text, without a start image (with one, they follow the image). Veo 3.1 offers only 16:9 and 9:16. Three routes work:
- Generate 3:4 and crop. The crop keeps the full width and removes about 6% of the height, split between top and bottom.
- Generate 9:16 and crop. You lose about 30% of the height (1080 x 1920 crops to 1080 x 1350), but the uncropped clip also fits Facebook Stories and Instagram Reels, where Meta recommends 9:16. Keep the subject in the middle of the frame so both versions hold it.
- Generate a 4:5 still. If an image ad will do, Nano Banana offers 4:5 directly; Nano Banana 2, the tool's default, is 11 credits an image at its default 1K setting (17 at 2K).
Tell the model where the subject goes: "subject centred, headroom above" leaves room for the crop, where a subject near an edge may be cut off. Per-model shapes are in AI video aspect ratios by model, and Instagram's placements in Instagram feed and Stories specs and Instagram Reels ad specs.
Resolution
Meta's 1440 x 1800 is a recommendation; the technical requirement is a minimum of 120 x 120. A 1080p vertical generation (Veo 3.1 or 3.1 Fast, Wan 3.0 or Happy Horse at 1080p) is 1080 x 1920, and its 4:5 crop is 1080 x 1350. Seedance and Grok Imagine top out at 720p, and Kling v3 Standard returns 720p: a 720p vertical clip is 720 pixels wide, so its 4:5 crop is 720 x 900. Both crops are below Meta's recommended size and well above the minimum. Hailuo H3 renders at 2K; the vertical H3 files we measured are 1456 x 2544, so a 4:5 crop from one is 1456 x 1820, slightly above Meta's 1440 x 1800. Details in AI video resolution by model.
File settings and length
The video files 8frame's models return are H.264 in MP4 at 24 fps, and 8frame does not re-encode them, which matches the H.264 and fixed frame rate settings on Meta's page. Check the audio track against the stereo AAC, 128 kbps setting before upload, especially if you add sound in your editor.
Meta allows up to 241 minutes in the feed, but the longest single text-to-video or image-to-video generation on 8frame is 30 seconds (Wan 3.0, Seedance 2.5). To build a longer ad from several shots, the Montage node (Merge Videos) joins 2 to 10 clips for 10 credits per merge and caps each clip at a length you set, 1 to 15 seconds (5 by default); the Video Editor mode has a timeline for finer cuts.
