Veo 3.1 Price Comparison 2026: Standard, Fast and Lite Across Seven Hosts

What an 8-second Veo 3.1 Standard, Fast or Lite clip costs on Google's Gemini API, Vertex AI, fal, Replicate, the Runway API, Krea and 8frame, from each vendor's own page on 2026-10-21: $0.40 to $3.20 by tier on the APIs, what sound and 4K add, and the Gemini API preview shutdown on 2026-10-22.

Google's Veo 3.1 is sold in three tiers, and across the API hosts an 8-second clip with sound costs about the same wherever you buy it: Standard $3.20 at 720p or 1080p on Google's Gemini API, Vertex AI, fal, Replicate and Runway's API alike; Fast $0.80 to $1.20 (Google bills $0.10 a second at 720p and $0.12 at 1080p, fal, Replicate and Runway $0.15); Lite $0.40 at 720p. On 8frame the same three clips are 448, 168 and 54 credits, about $4.48, $1.68 and $0.54 at the top-up rate, so for a single Veo clip the API is cheaper than 8frame. One date matters this week: Google's Gemini API pricing page says its Veo 3.1 preview models "will be shut down on October 22, 2026". Every number is from the vendor's own page, checked 2026-10-21.

This page compares hosts. For every way to pay Google itself, including the Gemini app and Flow plans, see Veo 3.1 pricing explained; for which tier to pick, Veo 3.1 Standard vs Fast vs Lite.

The tier decides the price, the host barely does

Standard costs $0.40 a second with sound on every API host in the table. Fast costs $0.10 to $0.15 a second, Lite $0.05 at 720p. Picking the tier moves an 8-second clip from $3.20 to $0.40; picking the host moves it by cents, with one exception: Google's own Fast rate is $0.10 a second at 720p, where fal, Replicate and Runway's API charge $0.15 at any resolution up to 1080p.

Sound. Every host that lists a silent price charges about half for Standard ($0.20 against $0.40 a second on Vertex AI, fal, Replicate and Runway's API) and about two thirds for Fast ($0.10 against $0.15 on fal, Replicate and Runway). On 8frame silent is 224 instead of 448 credits for 8 Standard seconds, 112 instead of 168 for Fast, 33 instead of 54 for Lite. Google's Gemini API lists only the price with audio.

4K. Google, Vertex AI and fal sell Standard and Fast at 4K: Standard $0.60 a second with sound, Fast $0.30 on Google and Vertex AI and $0.35 on fal. Lite has no 4K ("4k output not supported"). No video model on 8frame outputs 4K: Veo 3.1 and Fast return 1080p there and Lite 720p.

1080p on Lite. Google, Vertex AI, fal and Replicate charge $0.08 a second for Lite at 1080p against $0.05 at 720p. 8frame runs Lite at 720p only.

The Gemini API preview shutdown

Google's Gemini API lists Veo 3.1 as veo-3.1-generate-preview, veo-3.1-fast-generate-preview and veo-3.1-lite-generate-preview, and says these preview models will be shut down on October 22, 2026, advising developers to "migrate to Gemini Omni Flash" or to "the GA models available through the Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform". Vertex AI's pricing page still lists all three tiers at the same rates with sound, plus silent prices. If you are building on the Gemini API today, price Vertex AI or one of the resellers below instead. The Gemini Omni Flash side-by-side is in Gemini Omni vs Veo 3.1.

The price table

USD per second from each vendor's own page, checked 2026-10-21; the 8-second total is rate x 8, for example fal Standard with sound: 8 x $0.40 = $3.20. We have not compared outputs across hosts; this page compares prices and published limits only.

Host Standard, per second (sound / silent) Fast, per second (sound / silent) Lite, per second 8 s with sound: Standard / Fast / Lite
Google Gemini API (preview ids) $0.40 at 720p and 1080p, $0.60 at 4K; silent not listed $0.10 (720p), $0.12 (1080p), $0.30 (4K) $0.05 (720p), $0.08 (1080p) $3.20 / $0.80 to $0.96 / $0.40
Vertex AI $0.40 / $0.20 (720p, 1080p); 4K $0.60 / $0.40 $0.10 / $0.08 (720p), $0.12 / $0.10 (1080p), 4K $0.30 / $0.25 $0.05 / $0.03 (720p), $0.08 / $0.05 (1080p) $3.20 / $0.80 to $0.96 / $0.40

Vertex AI prints each rate as "/ 1 count"; the figures match Google's per-second Gemini API rates. Krea's figures are Pro-plan counts: $35 / 33 = $1.06, $35 / 84 = $0.42, $35 / 225 = $0.16 per 4-second clip; Krea's Basic plan does not include Veo 3.1 Standard.

Google Flow credits

In Google's own Flow app, Veo 3.1 costs credits per generation rather than per second: Lite 10 and Fast 20 for "Non-Ultra subscribers" (5 and 10 on Ultra), Quality 100 for all users. Google AI Pro adds 1,000 Flow credits a month, Ultra $100 adds 10,000 and Ultra $200 adds 25,000, and the help page says "With or without a subscription, you receive 50 Google Flow credits per day". We have not converted Flow credits to dollars, because the plan prices we can fetch are not in USD.

What it costs on 8frame

The Veo node opens on Veo 3.1 Fast, 8 seconds, sound on: 168 credits. Lengths are 4, 6 or 8 seconds, and an image-to-video start frame locks the clip to 8 seconds. Aspect ratios are 16:9 and 9:16.

Tier 4 s 6 s 8 s 8 s silent Output
Veo 3.1 (Standard) 224 336 448 224 1080p
Veo 3.1 Fast 84 126 168 112 1080p
Veo 3.1 Lite 27 41 54 33 720p

In dollars, 8 seconds with sound: Standard $8.51 on Starter ($19 / 1,000 credits), $7.32 on Creator ($49 / 3,000), $4.48 at the $0.01 top-up rate; Fast $3.19, $2.74, $1.68; Lite $1.03, $0.88, $0.54. A failed generation is refunded automatically.

8frame is the dearest host here for a single Veo clip. The reason to run it there is the board: a Lite draft at 54 credits next to a Kling v3 or Seedance 2.5 take, the start frame made by an image model on the same canvas, one balance for all of it. Every 8frame video rate is in AI video generator price per second.

Pick the Veo tier before the host: the tier moves an 8-second clip by eight times, the host by cents.

Try it without signing up: the 8frame canvas opens on a real board. The canvas is free and unlimited; generation is paid from $19/month.
