Correction, 2026-09-30: the first version of this page said Seedance 2.5 renders native 4K and includes 3D pre-visualization and frame-level editing, and gave a July 2026 launch through Volcengine; we could not verify those, and on 8frame it runs at 480p or 720p. It also cited 50 reference inputs: Dreamina's launch post does say the model accepts up to 50, but the 8frame canvas takes up to 9.
Seedance 2.5 is ByteDance's AI video model and the successor to Seedance 2.0. On 8frame its defining trait is length: it makes a single continuous clip of up to 30 seconds, twice what Seedance 2.0 allows, with sound generated in the same pass and up to 9 reference images to hold a product or a character steady.
How Seedance 2.5 works on 8frame
You give it a prompt and, optionally, a start image or reference images, and it returns one clip with sound:
- Length: 4 to 30 seconds.
- Resolution: 480p or 720p, 720p by default.
- References: up to 9 images on the canvas, which is how you keep a label or a face consistent through the motion. Dreamina's launch post says the model itself accepts up to 50 multimodal references; the canvas limit is 9.
- Sound: on by default at no extra cost; it switches its own sound off when you attach a reference audio track.
- Speed: in our production data a 5-second clip took about 287 seconds at the median at 720p, about 127 at 480p.

A credit is about $0.01 at pack rate. Seedance 2.0, which stops at 15 seconds, is 48 or 108 credits for 5 seconds.
When you use Seedance 2.5
- One continuous shot longer than 15 seconds, where the alternative is stitching clips and hiding the joins. Wan 3.0 also reaches 30 seconds, for less per second.
- A product or character that has to stay the same through the motion, using several reference images.
- Not for drafting. At about five minutes a clip at 720p, it is a finishing model. Draft on something cheaper and faster.
One caution: reference photos with a face in close-up are often refused by the provider's filter; use waist-up or full-length shots. See Seedance flagged as sensitive (E005).
Example prompts
Continuous product shot, 20 seconds: reference images of the bottle and the set, then "Slow orbit around the bottle on a marble counter, morning light, no cuts, 16:9." At 720p that is 313 credits for 10 seconds, 625 for 20.
Apparel, 9:16: references for the garment and the backdrop, then "Model walks toward camera, fabric moves naturally, soft studio light." Draft the motion at 480p (70 credits for 5 seconds) before the 720p final.
