FLUX.2 [pro] from Black Forest Labs (BFL) is one of the cheapest named image models to run, and the API hosts agree on the price: a 1-megapixel image (1024 x 1024) is $0.03 on BFL's own API, on fal and on Replicate. On plans it is 50 Magnific credits (about €0.03 on the annual Premium plan) and about $0.086 on Krea's Pro plan. On 8frame a FLUX.2 [pro] image is 5 credits, about $0.095 on the $19 Starter plan, $0.08 on the $49 Creator plan and $0.05 at the top-up rate. Every number is from the vendor's own page, checked 2026-10-21.
Priced by the megapixel, not by the image
FLUX.2 [pro] is billed on pixels. BFL lists "First megapixel" at $0.03 and "Additional megapixels" at $0.015 each; fal words it as "$0.03 for the first output megapixel, plus $0.015 per additional input or output megapixel, with megapixels rounded up", where "1 megapixel is 1024 x 1024 pixels". fal's own example: "a 1024 x 1024 output costs $0.03, and a 1920 x 1080 output costs $0.045 without image inputs". Replicate splits the same total differently: "$0.015 per run" plus $0.015 per input image megapixel and $0.015 per output image megapixel, so a 1-megapixel text-to-image run is $0.03 there too.
Edits cost more, because the input counts. On fal and Replicate the megapixels of the image you send are billed on top of the output: editing a 1-megapixel photo into a 1-megapixel result is $0.045 on both. On 8frame the FLUX.2 [pro] edit (the Flux Edit node) is 7 credits for a roughly 1-megapixel input and rises with the input's size.
Bigger outputs scale slowly. Each extra megapixel adds half the first one's price, so a 1080p frame (about 2 megapixels) is $0.045 on fal, not $0.06. On 8frame every size option on the FLUX node is a roughly 1-megapixel preset, so the price stays at 5 credits whatever the aspect ratio.
The price table

How the dollar column was computed
- BFL, fal, Replicate: from the per-megapixel rates. Replicate, 1 MP text to image: $0.015 (run) + $0.015 (output MP) = $0.03; edit: + $0.015 (input MP) = $0.045. fal, edit: $0.03 + $0.015 = $0.045.
- Krea: Krea prints the image count, not the unit cost. $35 / 409 = $0.086; $21 / 409 = $0.051.
- Magnific: 240,000 / 50 = 4,800 images a year (the page prints 4,800); €12 x 12 = €144 / 4,800 = €0.03.
- 8frame: $19 / 1,000 credits = $0.019 per credit; x 5 = $0.095, x 7 = $0.13. Creator: $49 / 3,000 = $0.0163; x 5 = $0.08, x 7 = $0.11. Top-up packs are $0.01 a credit: $0.05 and $0.07.
Where 8frame sits
The FLUX node on 8frame opens on FLUX.2 [pro]: 5 credits per image, one image per run, text to image only. If you need a reference image, the same node keeps FLUX 1.1 Pro (6 credits), the variant that accepts one; for edits, the Flux Edit node runs the FLUX.2 [pro] edit at 7 credits for a roughly 1-megapixel input. At 5 credits FLUX.2 [pro] is among the cheapest image models on 8frame, next to Seedream 4 (5), Seedream 5 Lite (6) and Nano Banana Classic (6), and it costs less than Nano Banana 2 at 1K (11). A failed generation is refunded automatically (do failed AI generations cost credits).
So the API is cheaper per image, and the reason to run FLUX.2 [pro] on 8frame is to test it against the other models on the same prompt from one balance. That comparison starts in Nano Banana vs Seedream vs FLUX and Pruna p-image vs FLUX.2 Pro vs Seedream 5; the edit tools are priced side by side in AI image editing price by tool.
Which host for which job
- Volume through an API: BFL, fal or Replicate, $0.03 per 1-megapixel image.
- Large outputs: fal or BFL, where each extra megapixel adds $0.015.
- On a creative-suite plan: Magnific's annual Premium, about €0.03 per 1K image by its own count.
- Side-by-side tests against Nano Banana and Seedream: 8frame, 5 credits per image.
FAQ
How much does FLUX.2 Pro cost per image?
$0.03 for a 1-megapixel image on Black Forest Labs' API, fal and Replicate; about $0.045 for a 1920 x 1080 image on fal. On plans, about €0.03 on Magnific's annual Premium and $0.086 on Krea Pro. On 8frame it is 5 credits, about $0.095 on Starter and $0.05 at the top-up rate.
Does FLUX.2 Pro cost more for editing?
Yes, on fal and Replicate, because the input image's megapixels are billed too: a 1-megapixel edit is $0.045 against $0.03 for a new image. On 8frame the FLUX.2 [pro] edit is 7 credits for a roughly 1-megapixel input against 5 for a new image.
Where is FLUX.2 Pro cheapest?
At list price, BFL, fal and Replicate tie at $0.03 per 1-megapixel image. Magnific's annual Premium comes to about €0.03 by its own count. These are prices, not output comparisons.
Can FLUX.2 Pro take a reference image on 8frame?
Not on the generation node: FLUX.2 [pro] there is text to image, and FLUX 1.1 Pro (6 credits) is the variant that takes a reference. To change an existing image, use the Flux Edit node, which runs the FLUX.2 [pro] edit.

On FLUX.2 [pro] the megapixels decide the bill: keep drafts at 1 MP, and remember that an edit pays for the image you send in.
Try it without signing up: the 8frame canvas opens on a real board. The canvas is free and unlimited; generation is paid from $19/month.
