Correction, 2026-10-01: this page said Seedance wins on physics and motion continuity, which we have not measured, and listed audio "in the base price" as a Kling advantage, which read as if Seedance were silent; Seedance 2.5 includes sound at the same price. Correction, 2026-09-30: the speed figures used to lump every Kling and every Seedance model together; they are now measured for Kling v3 Standard and Seedance 2.5 specifically, and the gap is wider than first reported.
Kling v3 Standard and Seedance 2.5 are both strong 2026 video models with a wide price gap between them. On 8frame a 5-second Kling v3 Standard clip with audio is 86 credits, about $0.86, and a 5-second Seedance 2.5 clip at 720p is 157 credits, about $1.57. Seedance costs 83 percent more, and whether that is worth it depends on what the shot needs: on 8frame, Kling v3 animates a start image, while Seedance 2.5 also runs from a prompt alone, takes up to 9 reference images and goes to 30 seconds.

Note the video-in line. Feeding Seedance existing footage costs more than four times a text-to-video clip, which is easy to trigger by accident and expensive to repeat.
What Seedance adds
Starting points. Seedance 2.5 runs from a prompt alone, from a start image, or from up to 9 reference images (a start image or references, not both). Kling v3 on 8frame needs a start image.
Length. One take of up to 30 seconds; Kling v3 stops at 15.
Physics, possibly. Weight, pours, cloth and collisions are the shots to test it on. We have not measured whether Seedance renders them better, so run your shot at 480p (70 credits) before you pay 157 on every clip.
For a static-ish product shot, a slow push-in, or an atmospheric background, start on the cheaper route.
Where Kling wins
Cost per usable take. The number that matters is not price per clip, it is price per clip you keep. Five attempts cost 430 credits on Kling v3 Standard with audio and 785 on Seedance 2.5 at 720p. Over a month of drafting that difference funds real work.
Speed. Measured on our own production jobs over 120 days, for a 5-second 720p clip: Kling v3 Standard about 60 seconds at the median (one in ten over 156), Seedance 2.5 about 287 seconds (one in ten over 388). At 10 seconds, Kling v3 Standard took about 103 seconds and Seedance 2.5 about 296. Roughly one Seedance take fits in the time of three to five Kling takes, which changes how many iterations fit in a working session, and iteration count is what determines quality. Seedance 2.5 at 480p narrows the gap: about 127 seconds for 5 seconds.
Sound as a setting. Kling v3 Standard is 86 with sound and 57 without, so you can drop the sound when music goes over the shot. Seedance 2.5 includes sound at the same price either way.
A routing rule
Draft on the cheap, finish on the expensive. Settle the frame as a still, then get the timing right on Kling v3 Standard from that still, 57 credits silent or 86 with sound. When physical behaviour is the point of a shot and the Kling takes keep missing it, move that one shot to Seedance and accept 157. For a text-only Kling draft, use Kling 2.6 Pro (47 silent, 95 with sound).
Spending 157 credits on your first attempt at a shot you have not composed yet is the most common way to waste credits on this platform.
