Correction, 2026-10-01: this page did not say that Kling v3 on 8frame needs a start image, and it described Hailuo's motion as more kinetic and Veo 3.1 as reading direction more literally. Those were impressions, not measurements, so they are gone; the start-image requirement and the text-only Kling route (Kling 2.6 Pro) are added.
These two sit close enough in price that the decision comes down to three specifics: Hailuo H3 outputs at 2K, it runs from a prompt alone while Kling v3 on 8frame needs a start image, and Kling v3 lets you generate silent for a third less. If resolution or a text-only start is what you need, Hailuo. If you have the frame and are laying music over everything anyway, Kling silent is the cheaper workhorse.

With audio the two are within two credits of each other. Silent, Kling is a third cheaper, and that column is where most production actually happens because music usually goes over the top in the edit.
Where Hailuo H3 wins
Resolution. 2K output, which none of the Kling tiers here match; the Kling v3 Standard files we measured on 8frame are 720p. For anything landing on a large screen or needing a crop, that headroom is real.
Text-only starts. Hailuo H3 runs from a prompt alone. Kling v3 Standard and Pro need a start image on 8frame; for a text-only Kling clip, switch the node to Kling 2.6 Pro (95 credits for 5 seconds with sound, 47 silent).
Duration range. 5 to 15 seconds.
Where Kling v3 wins
Silent pricing. 57 credits against 88 for five seconds is a third off, repeated across every clip in a batch.
Shorter minimum. Kling takes any integer from 3 seconds; Hailuo starts at 5. For a two-second cutaway you are paying for five either way, but the 3-second option matters on fast-cut work.
Audio as an option rather than absent. If you do want generated audio, Kling gives you the choice at a known price.

Anything landing on a big screen: Hailuo H3 at 2K.
