Brand Kits for AI Image and Video Generation (Coming Soon to 8frame)

How to keep AI images and video on brand: what a brand kit for generation should hold, how to use reference images and colour names on 8frame today, and how brand kits with a palette from images, a logo and a guidelines document will work on the board.

Coming soon on 8frame. Brand kits that live on the board as a node, with a palette taken from your images, a logo and a guidelines document, are not released yet. This page covers what a brand kit for AI generation needs, how to keep generations on brand on 8frame today, and what the brand features will do when they ship. No date is announced.

Image and video models do not know your brand. They know what you show them and what you write. A designer's brand kit (logo files, a palette, typefaces, a few rules) was built for people who read guidelines. For AI generation, the same material has to arrive in a form a model can use: reference images, named colours in the prompt, and a short list of things to avoid. Most teams do this by hand, every time, and that is where drift starts.

What a brand kit for AI generation should hold

Part Why the model needs it How it reaches the model
Approved imagery Shows the look: light, texture, composition Reference images on the generation node
Palette with names Hex values mean little in a prompt; "deep teal" and "warm sand" carry more Written into the prompt
Logo Marks the brand; often better added afterwards than generated Reference image, or placed in post
Voice Matters for anything with text or dialogue Written instructions
Never-say list Words, claims and motifs to avoid Written instructions
Guidelines document The full rules, for people and for text models Read, not pasted into an image prompt

A brand board covers the visual half of this. If you are choosing the colours themselves, see how to choose a color palette for a campaign.

How to keep generations on brand on 8frame today

There is no brand kit object on the canvas yet. You can build the same thing with what exists:

  1. Make a brand area on the board. Upload the approved images and the logo (the canvas takes PNG, JPG/JPEG, WebP, GIF, AVIF and BMP up to 50 MB). Put the palette and the never-say list in a comment beside them.
  2. Wire the approved images in as references. The Nano Banana node takes up to 10 reference images at no extra charge; Seedream 5 Lite takes up to 14, the most on the roster. Google's documentation for Nano Banana Pro splits its references into up to 6 object images, 5 character images and 3 style images, and lists "accurate brand consistency" among the model's strengths.
  3. Write colour names, not only hex codes. "Deep teal (#0F4C5C) background, warm sand accents" gives the model words it can act on.
  4. Check small text and logos at full size. Open the original file before anything goes out. We do not claim any model reproduces a logo exactly; many teams place the real logo afterwards.
  5. Reuse the setup. Save the board as a template (Publish as template) or duplicate it (Duplicate workflow) so the next campaign starts from the same brand area.

What it costs: a Nano Banana 2 image is 11 credits at 1K (the node's default), Nano Banana Pro is 21 at 1K or 2K, and Seedream 5 Lite is 6. References do not change the price on these nodes.

What is coming: brands on the board

The brand features will turn that manual brand area into one object you can wire into anything.

Three ways to create a brand

All three will open the same sheet, with fields for the name, palette, logos, typefaces, approved imagery, voice and a never-say list.

The brand node

A brand will be a node on the board with an output you can wire into an image or video generator, a text node, an agent or a frame. Wiring it is the attachment; removing the wire removes it. The node will show the palette as small swatches and say where the brand is in use, so a second person on the board can see which brand feeds which work. When a newer version of the brand exists, the node will say so and offer an update; nothing will change by itself.

When a brand is wired into a generator, the generator will receive the brand's approved images as references and its colour names and words to avoid with the prompt.

A guidelines document

A brand will also hold a guidelines document (PDF, DOCX or Markdown). Its text will be read by text nodes and agents wired to the brand, as instructions. It will never be pasted into an image or video prompt, where a long document would only confuse the model. Read more in reading briefs and documents with text models on the canvas.

Where brands will live

Brands will appear in the Library's Brands section and in the «+» catalog and right-click menu under your own items, so you can place one on any board. A personal workspace will hold one brand; in an organisation, owners and admins create brands and others use them. See one library for a team's AI assets.

FAQ

Does 8frame have brand kits today?

Not yet. Today you keep brand images and the logo on the board, wire them into generation nodes as references, and write the palette into the prompt. Brand kits as nodes are coming soon.

How will the palette be extracted?

From the images you select, in your browser, as up to six named colours you can edit before saving.

Will the brand's guidelines go into my image prompts?

No. The guidelines document is planned for text nodes and agents only. Image and video generators will receive the approved images, colour names and words to avoid.

How many reference images can I use today?

Up to 10 on the Nano Banana node and up to 14 on Seedream 5 Lite, at no extra charge.

Will brand kits cost extra?

We are not announcing pricing or plans for unreleased features. Generation on the canvas is priced per run in credits, as it is today.
